Group Gateway programme – Accredited Facilitator Training

Accredited Group Gateway Programme Facilitator training requires pre-requisite domestic abuse knowledge/training and completion of the following elements to achieve certification:

  • Attendance of one initial training day to begin the process of accreditation. 

  • Co-facilitation of one full Group Gateway Programme to gain the knowledge, skills and experience required to provide safe, risk managed Gateway programmes. 

  • Completion of an accredited portfolio of evidence, assessed, verified and certified by Tools4change CIC as the Open Awards quality assured centre for learning.  

Agency implementation of the Group Gateway Programme is licensed annually (£295) providing registration and  access to online updates and Annual Best Practice review events.

Accredited Group Gateway Facilitator Training – Objectives:

  • Gain knowledge of the structure and content of The Group Gateway Programme.

  • Explore the facilitator role, skills, characteristics and core principles underpinning effective Gateway facilitation.

  • Examine the utilisation of group guidelines as a crucial tool enabling effective/safe delivery.

  • Consider group dynamics and management strategies specific to diverse groups.

  • Identify Group Gateway Programme risk assessment and safety planning processes.

  • Use evidence and evaluation tools to measure effectiveness of Gateway Programme provision.
